Update: I hit the shops during my lunch break and am really surprised that I found a whole outfit in one shop called Forever New! It was the last shop as well and I was ready to give up after trying on so many things that looked great until I put it on. I got black skinny pants which have a slight lustre so look a bit more fancy, a beige sleeveless top with heaps of sparkly beading and double layer which hides my tummy really well, and a silver cardigan with sequins. Ended up spending $180 for 3 pieces which is pretty good and all things which can be worn again.
If I can work out how to upload a pic I will do that when I get home.
Now I just need to find shoes and think about how I will do my hair.
Thanks everyone for all the great ideas
