    Default New Zealand Necklace things

    hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me what those green things are that you can get from new zealand on necklaces are called.

    My Dp got me one a few years ago and I want to get a diff one for him but dont know what they are called or where to get them from over here.

    Mine was a distinct design it meant eternity but I dont know much else about them.

    those "green things" are called greenstone.

    I found the name of them on google by typing green nz necklaces . I found that after asking here.

    I just dont know where i can get one in Australia now.

    Also FYI...the maori people consider the head and neck to be sacred and NOTHING should ever be hung around that part of the body.

    Don't know any maori that actually live by this rule.

    I don't think you can get them in Aus - otherwise I would have more. We got ours in NZ. My kids also have whale bone too.

    the necklace in the pic is a paua shell one(and bone)you also get the greenstone tikis.Most of my maori friends in nz all wear these type of necklaces(but they are more modern maoris) but you have to be given them as a gift to wear them not buy them for yourselves as it is bad luck

    I know a very reputable place in NZ that maybe sells over the net...let me check it out.

    Or if they don't sell over the net, there is another way around it

    Just tell me the exact pendant you are after.
