What do you mean by cle's and resumed work?
    - genuine question.

CLEs are continuing legal education lawyers are required to do while holding a practising certificate. You don't have to do them when on maternity leave. By resuming work I mean when I went back to work.

But you doubt it because you haven't personally experienced it? Genuine question. I don't know what field you work in so can only speak to my personal experience.

It happens in just about all sectors.
    Our own govvymint says so.

It happens despite *some* women taking 8 years off work to raise children. It starts straight out of uni.

Regarding raising children (only one factor in oay disparity) many professions and industries such as Law still lack flexible work options too. It's hard to grasp the notion that working more hours trumps talent when it comes down to the value of an employee. What we have is a system based on a male ideal as the default.

I don't think doubt is the right word. Cautiously curious is more accurate. Like I believe it happens but I have that many questions I need to know the specifics so I can come to my own conclusion (I don't expect ladies on here to give me all the specifics).

Oh dear.. I read 'resumed work' and my brain interpreted as résumé (as in what you write when you apply for a job). Doh.
