Depending at what defcon stage I'm at I'm a little of all. If its inane bickering I walk away. If I'm needed I start off by talking but am often ignored so progress to yelling. Only once have I full on screamed and by them I was also crying so they knew it was bad. If its still not under control it's naughty chair or bedroom. My kids are walking disasters at the moment so my levels of patience are being well tested.

I tend to yell but I know it's pointless as DS (3.5) doesn't listen & just chucks a tantrum. Yesterday I had had enough & picked him up & deposited him on his bed & closed his door. After his tantrum he came out & apologized. Time for the naughty corner to come back I think
DH 37 + me 33 = DS1 3.5 & DS2 8 wks

DD1 is 8 & DD2 is 8mths, if I'm sleep deprived I cry. If DD1 is pushing my buttons I usually send her to her room & ignore her, I have shouted on the odd occasion but we live next door to a woman who screams all day so I know how awful it sounds, so I try really hard not to.

I put myself in time out. They hate it. I don't smack and grew up with a shouting mother and I hated it so I try not to shout. So now I just walk out and shut the door to my room. Unless they're hurting each other then they are all separated for 10 minutes (which they also hate).

I'm naturally verbally expressive lol (I couldn't be quiet if my life depended on it), so when I'm frustrated I tend to go up a few octaves. If I lose it though I put DD down somewhere safe and leave (most of the time in tears because I hate feeling so out of control). It hasn't happened often though, just on those hard days where nothing is going well.

Hahaha. I feel so mean doing it too! They really do hate it! Prolly doing just as much damage as what a smack would!
