DD1 - I wanted to find out but DP didn't so we didn't find out.
DD2 - small age gap so for practical reasons I decided I wanted to definitely find out to see if we needed to buy blue or use all our pink stuff haha

TTC#3 in a couple mths - Definitely want a surprise this time!!!!

I found out with my son but this time I'm having a surprise!! My hubby was desperate to find out but went along with me knowing we won't be having any more babes, so I'm sooo looking forward to the birth day surprise!!!!

We didn't find out the sex with any of ours. It made that moment straight after birth so, so special to us.
I'm a bit torn for if we have another baby. One part of me would want to know because we have three lovely boys already, the suspense would be tricky!

We are team Surprise!! We didn't find out with both of our girls & if I was ever fortunate enough to have more bubbas, they would be surprises too. It's nice to have a surprise at the end, it's also fun for friends & family to guess, the anticipation adds to our excitement.

I found out with my DS but I think next time I want a surprise. It was fun knowing because we could go shopping, get the nursery ready etc but hearing the sonographer say "Hmm...I think I see a penis..." is really not the same as I imagine hearing my DF say "It's a boy!" would have been.

I was team surprise as I think it's one of the best surprises and for me it was really easy to not find out as I really had no justification for wanting to know and didn't want an anti-climax.

I didn't find out with DD for several reasons. 1) I like to preserve the rare chances for a good surprise and that moment of finding out just added to the amazement of the birth. 2) I don't like pink so if we found out for sure she was a girl I would have ended up with a ton of pink. Bleh! 3) I knew DP wanted a girl (he has 2 boys) and if it was a boy I didn't want him to be disappointed as he wasn't as attached to bub during the pregnancy. I knew once bub was born he wouldn't care but I didn't want anything to mar it.

I love the surprise! The anticipation and speculation was fun during the pregnancy and it helped get me through labour. It was so much fun telling people.

I also like the idea of bonding with the baby as a little person with a sort of mysterious identity, rather than as a boy or girl.

I understand why people find out and it makes sense, especially for subsequent babies, but I like the surprise

Team surprise all the way here!! For me the best part of any big event is the anticipation, so the nine months of wondering and speculating was just the best! Then being to tell everyone our surprise was just awesome.

Plus I am a bit old fashioned / traditional with some things and this is one of them (other things include weddings and taking your husbands name - don't know why, just am!).
