Default MC and "normal" blood loss

    Hi!

Yet another question - I really wish I didn't have so many.

Took tablets today to try and complete miscarriage. My only experience with miscarrying is with haemorraging at the same time or having a d&c, so I'm not sure how much blood or anything else (ie. products of conception/tissue) that should pass. Sorry - it's a bit of a grosse topic.

TMI - so far has only been like a heavy period with smallish clots. The clots I had when I had the haemorraging with our first mc were bigger than my fist.

It doesn't feel like it's been enough, but I have nothing normal to compare it to either. I know hospital will call in the morning to see how it all went and so far I don't think it is complete at all. So don't want another D&C.

    Thank you all,
    LT.

Firstly, really sorry for your loss - it really is such a devastating thing to go through and my thoughts are with you.

I haven't had the tablets but had a natural miscarriage and a d&c. With the natural I was about 7 weeks along and I bled with small clots for about 3 days and then got labour pains that were fairly intense until I passed the tissue. It all came out at once. After that the pain subsided and a scan the next day showed I had passed it all and I bled like a period for a few more days after that.

Hope that helps. How far along were you? Again - really sorry you are having to go through this.

Thank you meeksie - bubs size was around the 7 wk gestation, but should have been 9 weeks yesterday.
I haven't had the pain like I did last time and no tissue so I guess I know what my answer will be for the nurse this morning.

Little Ted, I have just completed my natural mc. I was 10 weeks but baby measured 9.1, I discussed options with my dr and decided that natural was best suited for me, it took 1 week to start, I had large amounts of tissue, like size of mangoes, severe contraction pain and passed more tissue. Following day some mild pain like period pain, small amounts of clots, bleeding continued for few days. Will have scan to check complete and start again...

    Hope this helps
