    My GP (who I do highly regard) said he cannot give me a mental health plan without having been diagnosed with anything as the plan clearly stipulates it needs a diagnosis. Maybe it will have a look on the Internet to see if I can find more information or perhaps call Medicare (is that who I would call?)

    Well you might need to see a different doctor in this instance. GP's don't get it right all the time.
    I got my DS on a mental health plan without any prior diagnosis. No one seemed to believe me in regards to anything being wrong and I still got it.

    I've been on a mental health plan without any diagnosis too. It can definitely be done.

    I would try a different doctor.

    I have had two mental health care plans for my son. The dr did them based on my reporting of behaviour. The first one was for social anxiety, the second was for behavioural issues (hitting us, family conflict, anxiety etc).

    Some doctors are a bit anti psychologist. I saw one who didn't do the plans, as they felt kids should see paeds instead.
