I have read some of OP posts and its clear she had a ****ty home life left home and had a baby quite young, can't drive and has no family and friends really, her confidence must be low at times. It's clear she loves her kids and is doing the best that she can, sure encourage her to get her licence but that's not going to happen over night, what she really needs is a large dose of confidence in herself and things will grow from that.

Seems for some people around here putting down an easy target makes them feel better about themselves. A bit of kindness goes along way.

Hugs OP if I met you in real life I would give you a hug.

Totally agree with this! Let's all jump on OP with our budgeting and lifestyle advice! I'm sorry but I have felt quite a nasty undertone to some of the responses to what was supposed to be a vent thread.

Sure. My opinion is that you have responded to a VENT thread in an unnecessarily aggressive and somewhat nasty way that is not in the spirit of THIS public forum. Accusing someone of whinging or making excuses when you don't actually know their situation doesn't really make you sound like a paragon of constructive advice. Being on a public forum is not a license to be rude, a little empathy can go a long way.

What you write says a lot about who you are.

I would spend abit of time working on yourself instead of imparting nasty snide advice to OP.

Hang in there jagamoe. I understand it's awfully easy for others to say just quit smoking and it's also not easy to just ditch foxtel if you're on contract. It costs a lot to get your license etc. Scrimping now to pay off your debt is actually an investment in your future. If it's possible I would keep away from credit cards and contracts ASAP. You sound like you are trying and working so hard.

I'm sorry you have had some unnecessary responses to this thread, but there's also some great advice and support too.

For those saying $18 an hour is underpaid etc, my dh only earned $15 an hour for years!
If you know of all these higher paid jobs then share some links, I'm sure there are lots of people here that would love to know where they are...

    Hugs Jagamoe. xx
Your dh sounds like he is a hard worker so hopefully things get easier for you soon!

I think the point may have been that as a shift worker you would be entitled to penalty rates when working nights and the likes?

In the hand in my bank account no it's not. DP pay $680 in his account. My FTB $400. That's $1760. Not $2200
