    $60 for 30 mins

which was about right after ringing around a few places. I liked that she was honest and told us that he was doing great & we should see how he goes rather than ask us to keep seeing her forever... ds has a moderate speech & language delay and is doing awesome in kindy! still slurry but language has developed heaps (but still not 'on par' with his classmates).

Oh wow, my son goes to speech therapy and occupational therapy free through community health centre off our local hospital. I could never afford for him to go to one otherwise that's so much money.

We looked into speech therapy for our dd and the initial appt was $375 and then ongoing appointments were $110 for 45 minutes. Thankfully she was only little and just a late bloomer in speech and suddenly started talking in sentences (instead of just using 2 words!) so we didn't need speech therapy.

Speech therapy is really worth it though. It will seem dreadfully slow initially, but without time focusing on the basics they can't progress. You can always ask for a referral to your local community health service for low cost/free speech therapy and continue private speech therapy til you get in (in our area it takes 6 - 12 months to get a public hospital/community health appointment).

When I took my DS, it was free through our local community health centre and the wait was about 4 weeks. Lovely people too.

$65 for 30 mins here also

I have not bothered claiming yet on health fund but imagine that I will get a 1/3 or so back

It has been worth every cent. DS does not have major issues and only goes once per fortnight but he improved within 2 sessions and probably won't need many more.

$90 for an hour. We use his fachsia funding to pay for it though.
My daughter was free through community health.
