Default Coconut oil in hair = dry and brittle!

What the? I have heard so many good things about coconut oil in hair.. So I did it yesterday and spent a whole day with it in..washed it out last night and today my hair feels like straw like I have bleached it and its damaged.
What went wrong? I'm never using that in my hair again. Horrible. Now to use a normal conditioning treatment to get it back to normal

No I have no bleach.. It feel like I have though with the damaged feeling.
So strange I just googled an some people have had the se experience.
So just a wrning to others maybe just do a section of hair first as it may not be good for ur hair either

have no idea if this makes a difference but that one is not extra virgin coconut oil, so it has a bunch of the good stuff taken out.
always had really good results when ive done it

It's not extra virgin but its cold-pressed virgin coconut oil, if you were talking about the own I posted? I don't think the OP has said which one she used.
