Default An open letter to News Limited

I thought this was well worth a read.

    http://theaimn.com/2013/08/25/an-ope...s-at-news-ltd/

The bias shown by News Limited is blatantly obvious and wrong.

Did you complain in 2007 when News Limited was backing Rudd? Was the obvious bias back then wrong too?

It is simple, if you don't like the newspapers - then don't buy them. You can get your news from anywhere - you obviously have the internet.

An opinion piece in Fairfax today. Is Fairfax equally guilty?
    http://www.smh.com.au/comment/smile-...825-2sjrn.html

Maybe Rudd and this government are hopeless and deserve to be voted out.... just a thought.

Victoria may prefer though, that the government should control the media to ensure that not a bad word be said about it. Good idea comrade!

Thanks for posting. As a politics major I have a particular interest in politics and media ownership.

The media are meant to impartial. They're to report on the facts without bias. Badly photoshopping the government in nazi uniforms (which doesn't make sense because the Nazi's were far right, more in line with the thoughts of Abbott) with their headline of choice is far from impartial or unbiased.

Omg yes. So out of it this morning. Bad sinus meant a horrible nights sleep. Took my 15 mins to write that post because I couldn't think straight. I'll fix it up.

The Herald Sun (the highest circulating daily newspaper in Australia) & The Advertiser (both News Ltd) endorsed Howard for the 2007 election

    http://www.theage.com.au/news/federa...753256120.html

I was living in Melbourne in 2007 and remember the Herald Sun running a piece right before election day (or perhaps on election day?) telling people that Howard deserved another term

Yes Fairfax are guilty of it too.

I'll be honest and say I didn't pay much attention to the media during the 2007 election. I still stand by what I said about the media reporting facts without bias, no matter which side they're showing bias towards.

I don't buy newspapers. I do read articles on some of the sites occasionally but generally try to stay away from a lot of the political stuff on the big news sites because of all the crap. Manufacturing consent anyone?
