I just got my niece a pair of trainer roller blades (on sale at target) for her 5th bday, she absolutely loves them.

I got my 5 year old son a play Skool digital camera ($80) . It's got this switch they flick and their photo becomes projected onto a wall . It has all these extra fun functions and it big enough and sturdy enough to be chucked around . They have them in navy for boy and pink for girls. They look like a proper big camera and are quite grown up and cool compared to some that I've seen . He hasn't been given it get as he hasn't actually had his birthday yet , but I think he will love it.
