I cleaned like a mad woman when we moved out of our last rental, and expected to get picked up on something as that's what everyone says. It was fine though, they actually told us it was perfect as they figured it would be. It was a pretty old place though so maybe they weren't too fussy. We didn't have to do the carpets, either.
I would wait and see if they knock you back before paying for a pro if you've already done a lot of work

I own so not sure but with my mum when she's left they've always given the opportunity for her to go back and touch up if something was missed
