I would be annoyed. Which plan was arranged first. ? was the babysitting sorted, and then he went out with the mates? or was the night out with the mates sorted and then the babysitting ??either way I would be annoyed, it is important for two people to communicate and spending time together should be the priority, not drinking with mates. If I were you I'd catch up on sleep. He'll miss out. Don't let him sleep in or anything either. He still has to get up to the kids the amount of times he normally would the next night and if he complains it's his own fault.

    Id be ****ed too.
in fact my dh did something similar to me so I went and booked a night at the Hilton and ordered room service, sat in a fluffy robe and watched movies. In the morning I let dh go pick the kids up while I slept in and went and had buffet breakfast and read the paper.... It was bliss and although it cost me about $200 it was totally worth every cent.

I'd be heading straight for the bed for an all comfy, all the bed to myself sleep. Mind you- he'd get no sympathy from me when it came time to pick the kids up and he was having trouble after a big night.

    Go you! That is awesome.

My DH never really goes anywhere, ever.. I'm on the other end of the spectrum, I guess.. I'd like him to go out occasionally but he's a big old homebody like me.

OP, I'd be hurt; it's inconsiderate. Sounds like it would have ben a rare opportunity for the two of you to have some alone time. Having said that, sometimes men need it spelled out it out for them- maybe he just didn't realise that you wanted the night with him.
