Ok that's it. This is totally unacceptable. Time to draw a line in the sand and say "I am an Australian. You have 24 hours to get over this pathetic border crap and get me a spot in in-house treatment, or I will go public. Just in time for the Federal election. No negotiations."

I know it is tough but if you have to go through this incredibly $hithouse and stressful passing of the buck this is the best time for it. Federal Election time.
Your local MP is National-Liberal. The state Government, responsible for healthcare is National-Liberal too I believe. Your local Federal member won't want this going unresolved/public as it will screw his chances of getting re-elected.

Contact your local member of Federal Parliament immediately. Or perhaps have your hubby do it, he can add commentary about how worried he is about the mother of his kids.

    - recommend your hubby keeps phoning until he gets through. You don't know how often the web forms will be checked.

If you get pushback from your local member tell him you will lodge a complaint with the QLD Health Quality and Complaints Commission and that you will pass a copy of the complaint to the Federal minister for Mental health and Ageing (Labour would love to stick it to the Libs... Your local member would be aware of this).

    - HQCC http://complaints.qld.gov.au/?tabid=59
    - Federal minister for mental health and ageing:

Hang in there Frenchie. You can do this.

I admire you all for sticking up for frenchie, and going to her local member might help and get her a bed. But my fear for her is that she'll then be known as the 'political patient'. Which won't help her (experience tells me this).

Also, waiting for beds is common, we've had people in our ED for 72 hours or more waiting for beds, people who are a danger to themselves and others. I'm not trying to minimise frenchies problems, but clinically she would not be priority, plus, she has a bed, people in the ED would be prioritised first.

The system is not perfect, far from it. If you all really want to help petition your local members, demand change, because unfortunately frenchies situation is not uncommon.

I slept all afternoon now wide awake. My new neighbour woke me up, I feel for her but she's quite, er loud talking about how she just got out of jail on the phone to someone. Poor thing though she's in alot of pain.

What time was that? Between the hours of 9:30pm-7:30am I would have made loud yawning noises in the hopes that foghorn got the hint...

They've got me back on Valium. I know i said it is an absolute no for me but I didn't have the strength to say no.

    Now I'm on:

    OxyContin
    Endone
    Valium
    Zyprexa (anti psych)
    Pristiq (anti depressant)
    Noten (beta blocker)
    Voltaren

Omg. My life, what has happened. You guys who have been around a long time know that I don't ever give my kids Panadol, I don't treat fevers, I cook organic, don't vax etc and now look at me! I need to keep the above list somewhere I can see it as motivation to get better. How depressing.
