Default Does the over use of "lol" in sentences annoy you? Are you guilty of it?

I know, I know first world problems, and I was guilty of over using "lol" not so long ago. I've become more conscious to not use it so much, but since then I see people over using it everywhere and it makes me cringe!

For Eg on facebook, or forums. Putting lol on the start and end of ever sentence of their paragraph, "lol John did this yesterday, did you know he did it? lol, I saw it happen and it was so embarrassing! lol, I feel so bad for john lol".

Has it become the online version of when people say "umm" when talking to one another? because they're unsure of what to say?
Tell me I'm not the only one that over the top loling is annoying?

    LOL!
Totally agree. I only put it in as a second thought, when I am joking about something and think hmmm maybe someone might take this seriously... I usually just add kidding!
I tend to think that I am not going to write that I am "laughing out loud" when I am NOT in fact doing so. Especially when I see it used so often in the same sentence. There should be so many spelling mistakes if someone is constantly lolling while writing. I can't say it annoys me though.

Guilty here LOL! I don't know, I suppose I just like to try and portray more emotion in what I write or show a happy side. Had no idea that would annoy people?!

I use it a fair bit. I'm hopeless with wording and if I don't put a 'lol' in some ppl take what I say the wrong way. I'm also used to yrs of online chatting and 'lol' was very common.

I'm one of those people who refuses to use it. It doesn't greatly annoy me, I just don't care for it.

I do think it's often over used. I sometimes think to myself "Really? You're really laughing out loud at that?"

I rarely use it - I must be old school because I still usually type 'ha ha'.

I *think* I know what you're referring to though and yes I find that overkill and annoying to read!
