Default Night supply when bub sleeps longer

Hi ladies this might sound silly but as your bub sleeps longer at night does/should your supply adjust? My little one is 10 weeks old and is starting to sleep 5 or 6 hours at night so she is going longer between feeds... I am waking up very full! Also I love that she is sleeping long stretches but am worried she is going too long between feeds?

My bub is 10 weeks and starting to sleep 6 hours. I am a firm believer that a baby will wake when it's hungry. I am enjoying these longer stretches while they last!

Your body adjusts to what your baby needs. It works on supply & demand so your body will soon realise that your bub doesn't need that feed & will stop producing for that feed. Yay for sleeping thru longer!!!

Yes, everything does adjust eventually, but you will find yourself getting pretty full sometimes, or even leaking all over the place. I used to sleep with a nursing bra on and breastpads or wash cloths when this transition was happening.

All the best, and enjoy that little bit of extra sleep!

I sleep wearing a bra & pads now. I usually like being "free & easy" while I'm sleeping but after waking up in a puddle a few weeks ago when my bub slept thru for the first time, I figured it was cleaner & drier to wear a bra to bed!

Thanks everyone. That makes sense about supply & demand. I might start wearing a bra & pads to bed. I hope the long stretches of sleep continue!
