Just echoing everyone elses words, that what your body is doing right now is perfectly normal, especially this being your first bub.

I'd discuss induction only at the 13th hour, that being just shy of 42 weeks in my mind.

It is very likely your body will initiate labour of its own accord before that anyway, and spontaneous labours are far more likely to progress without the need for interventions which make c/s more likely.

Don't worry, your body is just cooking this bub a little longer!

    All the best

Missie Mack - very interested to hear you would opt for c/s rather than induction! Why? (C/s would be my last resort)

Ah yep I get you, I was kinda wondering if it had anything to do with a personal experience, or was to do with research you'd been reading. Makes sense.

I had a check up on thurs (3 days before due date), was not dilated at all. Had acupuncture the next day. Went into labour on the Sunday (waters broke) which was my due date. She was born on the Tuesday. It can happen really quickly!

I have started using Evening Primrose Oil (internally), to see if that gets anything moving along. Am also looking into acupuncture. Am definitely wanting to avoid induction based on everyone's feedback. Thanks!

    Update...

I had acupuncture on Friday (day before my due date) at Ondol Oriental in Brisbane. The acupuncturist was lovely and left me feeling very relaxed. That night I woke up to my first couple of contractions. Then... Nothing...

It is now 2 days past my due date. Hurry up little man

How did you go? I'm due Saturday and wasn't dilated at my Monday appointment.
