I'm not sure, I think its different for everyone.

My af used to come 28th days from the final day of af, not the first....so I'd af was 3 days id get a 31 day cycle....but she was usually 5-8 days....giving me 33-36 day cycles...I'm not sure when I used to ovulate, though I know for sure it was cd17 when we concieved ds.

Since ttc #2 for the first time ever I had 28th day cycles for 2 months, a 29 day cycle and a 32 day cycle. O was on cd17....
Then my cycles have gone to 36 days ....and I'm sure o is now cd20-22

Not sure I'd that answers your question, but its what I've experienced...

Yay! I'm April 22. And waiting for either AF or a BFP! I'm so hoping this is my month, if not, looks good for next cycle!

Fx for you and Funchu that your bodies settle down and straighten themselves out ASAP.
No no it's ok. Just waiting for af to show up. Dp is holding up his part, just wish I could hold up my part.

Lisa- thanks that gives me a little hope. I don't think I'm ovulating though.
