Today my sil told me that in Victoria they only perform elective c-sections on Fridays. Was wondering if this is true. I am with the mercy but won't know date until much closer.

That can't be true - I have two friends who have had elective c-sections this year, neither of them on a Friday. They were at private hospitals though.

That is one of the oddest things I have ever heard. Maybe some ob's always do them on a Friday because that is their surgery day but otherwise I can't think of a reason.

Most public hospitals have set theatre lists on set days so they may have a booked obstetric list on a Monday and Wednesday therefore all elective c sections are done on those days. My private OB only has a list on a Tuesday so everyone he has is booked on the Tuesday

I had an elective at sunshine hospital and they only do them on Wednesdays there(3.5 years ago so could have changed), so it could be a policy at that hospital
