Default Travelling to Europe: SIM card??

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me, we're travelling to Europe soon and I'll need a phone while over there, I'd ideally not like to use my phone provider as roaming charges are extortionate. Can anyone suggest a sim provider that works across uk, France & Italy?

I'm not worried about topping it up, I'll put 50 £ when we get there to cover us, but is there a pre paid provider that will work across those three countries??

Thanks in advance for your help!!

(I asked SIL & she said 'just use Skype' , that's not an option for us 😊)

The post office sells one that is reasonably priced for calls and SMS. I just got it for my parents, we loaded $100 onto it and can be used for data roaming too

We bought one over there. Just go in to a phone shop and ask for the one with the cheapest rates to Australia. We could call home for 6 pence a minute from the UK

    Thanks everyone!!

I might check out the post office one, otherwise we have time in London first so. I'll buy one as soon as we get there

Is it just given or do you need to ask?

There's one called travelsim that I used and had coverage in all countries we went to. I think that might be the post office one.

There are Vodafone stores there. We bought a prepaid sim in Italy with 30euro credit and it lasted us 4 weeks. We got a plan with cheap international calls and pretty much no other inclusions. Just pop into a phone store over there.
