Default Where to stay in Singapore?

We're not staying with kids (why is that the only option in the travel section?!) and want to stay somewhere lovely.

    Hit me!

I went there October 2012. You must try the buffetvat straits kitchen at the hyatt!!! It's freaking awesome! You pay about $55 sgd and it's all u can eat without a time limit but drinks are extra. Totally worth it.

We stayed at the Elizabeth hotel which is less than 10 min walk from orchard rd. I would stay around city cause it's pretty central to most attractions.

Lovveed Singapore. It's extremely clean and has some really nice attractions to see.

It really depends what your budget is. I've stayed at The Elizabeth twice now and it's top end but I found it fine. Look it up. It'll come up as The Elizabeth hotel by far east Hospitality. We got the deluxe room which is simple but enough.

I am planning to go to Singapore again once my son is old enough to enjoy kiddy stuff too. It is nearly dollar for dollar there but I don't care. I love it.

Budget is pretty generous. We never holiday so we're happy to get it right. We were looking at Marina Bay Sands but worried it might be too casino-ish, gimmicky?

    Raffles?

I adore Singapore, have a blast. Make sure you have high tea at Raffles

I would stay near Orchard Rd as well. I can't remember the names of the places from when I have visited, but they were pretty cheapo. Have you had a look on Trip Advisor?

Royal on Scott's is great with a yummy buffet breakfast and close to the shops.

We stayed at Marina Mandarin which was beautiful!

Raffles. We had a week there as part of our honeymoon and have since returned twice. Timeless elegance and a level of service that I have not found anywhere else in the world.
