Oh thanks Toni! I was hopeless at it

MissX, I was told not pump until 36 weeks but there's no harm catching it in a syringe earlier if you are leaking. Colostrum can be frozen for 3 months.

Thanks Bond and Rainbow - was a little freaked out to start using the expressing machine already - so I am glad that I can hang on a little longer.
So you know how they say that your milk doesn't come in for a few days after bub is born and the colostrum (sp) is the good stuff full of antibodies and nutrients - will that still happen or is this it?
I could just wait for my breast feeding class tonight and ask!

I think you'll keep getting the colostrum. At my breast feeding class, the said the delivering of the placenta affects the hormones, and triggers milk production. So I would expect approx day 3 your milk will be in

No worries Rainbow, gives me something to do when I have a cranky River.

MissX I leaked colostrum for ages and still had plenty for River.

Thanks Toni. Kelly needs to be added, but I'm not sure of her due date.
I'm ready to be added to the arrivals list, shame bub has other ideas ;-)
