Hello lovely ladies! I'm sorry I haven't posted, I have just returned from a wonderful 4.5 weeks in Europe. It was brilliant! But now I'm incredibly jet lagged :/
I'm so excited to hear the ttc journey is about to begin/may already have begun for some of you. Sending good vibes!
We'll still be sticking to Jan 2014 as it'll now give me some time to flush the BCP from my system (I'll be stopping once this packet finishes in 2 weeks). DH asked the other day what he should be doing - very excited now that he is 100% on board. I told him some men take menevit, so I searched some menevit forums on here and read out a few things to him. He's keen to start taking them now! I then googled stuff about what men can do to prepare to ttc and I read that a man should ejaculate each day to ensure no genetic mutations in the sperm. After telling him that it led to more DTD 'all in the name of healthy sperm'
It's actually now become a lot of fun with DH sharing in the ttc excitement. Before I thought he wasn't just that interested but I can see he is. Especially since its now only about 3 months away before we begin!!! I can't wait
I'm thinking of attending a baby expo later this year with one of my friends who has a 7 month old. She suggested it to me as she thinks I'll get more insight into all the different products. Have you guys ever been?
Ah this has turned into an essay sorry!

Haha how exciting MrsT!!! Nothing like a bit of practice
I remember seeing that you wanted to sway.. Try not to DTD in the few days before O because the female sperm live longer and therefore more chance of a girl (so they say). If you want to sway for a boy try to DTD on the day of O because although male sperm don't last that long, they swim faster and will usually beat the female sperm to the egg
Two girls, one dream and baby you are it!

Nice to see some 'faces' pop by for a hello whenever you get time ladies, we aren't going anywhere
Mrst, the only thing to be embarrassed about...we know what you're up to in your spare time hehe oh bit so are some others of us
we had planned everything around starting in Jan and on a whim said no, we'll see how we go now now. Now I'm desperate for it to happen in the next 2mths so my sil will be here when bubs arrives (she lives in the US and was here when we first found out I was utd with dd so I would love for her to be about for a newbie)
Kim, i got swept up in mrst's excitement but happy birthday for the other day! Hope you had a lovely day
Coco, how lovely for a nice break in Europe! Another hubby who's well aboard the ttc train all getting real for everyone

Kim was there a birthday I missed??? Happy birthday!! Starting to make me realise what a birthday actually IS lol and what it involved for poor mumma!!
Yay lets all start creating birthdays of our own XD
Coco omg so jealous I'm glad you had a good time. We are foregoing a holiday for buying our first home, not as fun but just as exciting I think :-)
Michelle go for it!!! If it feels right I say do it!! Planning is all well and good, being prepared is important, but sometimes you just gotta stick to your gut. We are just mammals after all :-)
I know I did want to swing for boy, but I think im just going to leave it to luck. Ill DTD 2 days before, then smack bang on O. Hopefully ODay will bring some fast gentlemen to the ball game haha

Happy belated birthday Kim
MrsT buying a house is extremely exciting and much more rewarding than a holiday. Now that mine is over, I want another one.
We built our house so the next 3 months will be spent finishing our back yard and completing the furnishing. I'm actually really excited to buy decor for the home instead of saving for Europe! I just know it brings us closer to baby time.
I'd like to swing for a boy also. So if you DTD 2 days before you O and then on O day should you not DTD after that?

Your egg only survives for no longer than 12-24hrs after ovulation, so any later than that and his juice will be swimming towards nothing anyway. I have always felt funny about DTD after O, just cos I feel like well if its dying v soon how healthy can it be at the end IYKWIM....
swinging for boy basically means you want to do it as LATE as possibly, without being too late. So NOT in the 4 days before O, but ideally ON O exactly. Of course that not easy, so that's why it's suggested to do it soon as you get your positive opk (usually 24hrs before O) then go, and go again 36hrs later ish. If you DTD too close together then u lose your sperm strength.

Keeping in mind swinging for a boy is harder, cos if you miss O you don't DTD while fertile. This is my reason for deciding to just go every two days, get in as much juice as possible, and hope for best. Don't want to waste a cycle basically.

MrsT that info is very helpful!
I will need to start tracking my cycles once I am off the pill in a few weeks. I was very regular before going on the pill so I'm hoping it goes back to being regular. But it might take a while which will make working out when I O quite hard.
In the end though I wouldn't mind if I had a baby girl or boy - so long as I get pregnant and have a healthy baby!
Hopefully - do you know if you want to have a boy or girl?
