I am after a decent but fairly cheap sewing machine.
I know how to hand sew, but would like to start on a machine so I make and mend some basic things.
Can anyone recommend me a basic one? I don't need anything arty farty, just basic for basic sewing and stitches?

There's a janome sale in ATM. They have a decent basic one for $159 My sister who teaches quilting etc advised me when I got a machine to get one you can get serviced locally. I think most in spotlight are only serviced in big places like Brisbane and Sydney.
