Would you say this fb status is racist?

Well the Aussie lady obviously wasn't that much better since she hung up on her...
I don't know of its racist as its not against a particular race.

"I'm not racist but..."
And that right there, is your answer.

I don't think it's racist but I think it's pretty rude! The fact is the companies chose to outsource and exploit cheap labor overseas and these poor people need money, so they do what they can to support themselves and their families.
It's annoying but if you have a problem with it complain to the company, not the operator doing their job.

I don't think complaining about a language barrier is racist. I too get frustrated when I can't understand people when I call optus or get someone from a call centre.
Racism is attributing a negative characteristic to everyone is one race - so if she had said all Indians are idiots, or Asians talk funny, then I would say it was racist.

Hell yeah - as soon as someone says "I'm not racist, but" you know that they are being racist.

Lol if the "lovely aussie lady" hadn't hung up on her she wouldn't have been stressed out having to talk to all those terrible foreign people who cannot understand her.
I don't think she is racist though..just a bit of an ignoramus.

I would say it is intolerant. There are plenty of native english speakers that I struggle to understand. I swear some people hear an accent and immediatly tune out. The mobile company I am with has their call centre based in the Philipines I think and their staff are always really good.
