Didn't meet the parents but the family day care educator that looked after him hated it as she thinks people must think she's really rude when she's saying "boy come here etc".

I wonder if they were Maori....? It's common in our culture to call a boy, Boy. It's not generally the birth/given name but a nickname that becomes the name they become known by.

I have spelt my name or corrected pronunciation of it, on average, I'd say at least once a day for every day I've been alive (I worked in call centres for 8 years, so LOTS of corrections there to make up for other days I've haven't had to lol!).

I love my name, though and I love my Welsh heritage. So even though I have to spell it or correct the pronunciation a lot, I wouldn't change it for the world. My middle name is another Welsh name that is even harder to pronounce and spell! I love that too since it's my mum's name!

If belly bub is a girl I have a Welsh name picked out for her. I can assure you that it's not Blodwen, though!
Ooh would love to know your names and your belly bub's! Both my girls have traditional Welsh names!

I wanted El.eri for a girl for aaaaages followed by my Mum's name/my middle name (it's a different Welsh name starting with C, similar to the one you mentioned) but a friend of mine named her daughter Eleni and I just can't do it now! I was always worried about the Eleri/Celery nickname, anyway.
