If little boys have fathers and mothers as a good role modelS and teach them, i dont think they will take the impressions of music and lyrics literally or seriously. Just like we have to be good role models for our daughters so they dont think "whips & chains" are exciting or loving an @**hole is true love LOL

No, not you! I just meant if you really wanted to try hard and find something 'degrading', there's that. But I think Pink's fantastic.

I like Pink. She is great.

As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s watching video hits (and loving it) I can honestly say, I don't let my kids watch it. It has just gone way too far, in terms of Lyrics and video clips. Just the fact that Rage has a MA+ rating speaks volumes.

I hate most of the crap on the radio these days. I listen to playlists I make.

The song that irks me ATM is that song with the line "am I asleep, no I'm alive."

Seriously?!?!? Being asleep does not equal being dead! Grr.

I think this song has been singled out based on the filmclip.

If you really listen to the lyrics in a lot of pop songs, they have some pretty questionable lyrics. Rihanna comes to mind instantly - in fact a lot of so called "R & B".

Even in the 90's I recall a number of overtly sexual lyrics floating around in top 40 songs.

I'm just not outraged by Blurred Lines, probably because it's nothing new to my ears. And...I've heard a lot worse!

It is really easy for me to say that I don't like this song as I really cannot stand that style of repetitive dance music. I like music with actual musicians involved, or at least an indication that the creator of the lyrics has an IQ that hits double digits.

That said, I read the lyrics, and I agree that they are vulgar and rather terrible, however I have heard far more offensive music than this.

That sounds like sexual adult to me!
It sounds aggressive but not necessarily non consensual to me..some people are into that kind of thing when I heard it I definitely thought "what a charmer.. not.." lol.. but I guess I think that with a lot of lyrics.

I agree. I even like rap music (mostly the older stuff) but i definitely dont think main****** music is suitable for younger kids. there has always been a lot of sexual innuendo in music but its really in your face now.. its not suggestive... its just like "here.. look at my big penis."

This exactly! I love the song and loved it even more when I saw the film clip and the girls in it are absolutely gorgeous! Love watching it! Soooo many songs have lyrics like this but I would never let lyrics bother me and I happily sing and bop along! It's definitely my favourite song at the moment!

Love this song. Love his albums.

15mth DD loves it and the clip, along with Get Lucky by Pharrell.

She also loves Rob Thickes "shakin it for daddy" song. She busts a move!
