Default Acidic urine burning bubs skin - is it my diet?

My daughter has been getting bad nappy rash lately where it's breaking her skin. In the past, we've used desitin cream and her rash heals completely within 24 hours, but this time it's not working as well. It rarely happens when she poos, so I'm guessing she must have acidic urine. She's 4 months old so could be teething but just wanted to check whether anyone knows if anything in my diet could be causing the acidic urine (she's breastfed).

take a look at how much acid you are eating, tomatoes, oranges, strawberries, onions/ garlic. It could also be a reaction to dairy, or yeast. Perhaps consult with a dietician. Also, at four months, she could be starting teething, and that can trigger all sorts of nappy rash. Marie.

It could be your diet, and I guess you would only know if you do a process of elimination to try and work out if it is. Make sure you're sure you're drinking plenty of water too.

My babies all got acidic poos when they were teething, I formula fed one and three exclusively breastfed. If it's really bad to the point of breaking skin and fungal, the only nappy cream I have found to work (as it also has anti fungal properties) in it is Daktozin, it's amazing stuff. Other than that, if it's become fungal then you may need some hydrozole cream (canestan) to help clear it.
