We have ended up at the ed both times for steroids. The first time needed 2 doses. I would love to avoid it getting to that in the future.
To save a trip to the ed, the last 2 times DD had it, iv just video recorded her and her cough (it's always so much worse during the night) and shown our gp the next day.

The last time dd had this the doc said warm drinks, keep warm and NO cold air-it aggravates thw airways and makes it worse.

It is interesting. I've always used the steamed bathroom in an emergency (recommended by the local hospital, too) and the vaporizer has certainly lessened the symptoms.

My kids all tend to be asthmatics. I have column heaters in each bedroom set to low to take the chill off. My kids wear singlets and warm clothes to bed, too. Sometimes, I've used both the heater and vaporizer as the heater tends to make the air dry.
