We've seen both, but for 3 probably Despicable Me 2 but it depends on how your child copes. Has your little one seen Monsters Inc? That would be a good guide, my 10 year old was scared of that and she was 6 before she watched the movie and that was even after reading the book.

We ended up going to see Despicable Me. It was good, we had a nice time I think we'll have another movie date sometime this week to see Monster's University since its movie weather here at the moment, cold and raining!
