Default I'm freaking out, has this happened to you??

So I found out I'm pregnant last Saturday from an unrelated blood test. When I followed up at the drs she said from my lmp I'd be 8 weeks but my hcg levels were low around 700. I have pcos so I have long cycles and ovulate irregularly so it's highly likely I ovulated late in my cycle. She sent me for an ultrasound today which showed a sac but nothing in it. The sac measured me to be 5 weeks 3 days. Is this normal?? Dr said I probably wouldn't see much if it's only early on but I am completely freaking out. We've tried for this baby for nearly a year and the thought that something may be wrong is really upsetting me Has anyone experienced anything like this and what was the outcome? Any advice greatly appreciated.....

When I had my first ultra sound I would have been about 5 weeks as well. From memory the ultrasound showed a pregnancy sac but nothing else and I was told to come back in a few weeks where hopefully they would see more. Next time they were able to see more and DS is now 6 weeks old

Good luck at the next scan!

    Hi Melimum,
A similar thing happened to me i too have PCOS and we trued for years and gave up. Wheni found out I was pregnant I should have been 12 weeks and when I had my scan I was only 6. Went back for a scan a week later and he had grown so the doctor said I must have ovulated around day 40. My DS is now 4 and all worked out great.

My last scan was at 5 weeks 6 days and all they could see was a sac and no fetal pole. Apparently that's normal. Going for my next scan on Monday the 1st of July (will be 7 weeks 4 days) so will let you know how it goes. Try not to worry, it should be fine

So six days later and my hcg levels are 4000. So hopefully a good sign. Go back for another scan in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed we get a heart beat!

    Sounds like a good sign
I had an ultrasound at 5w5d for this pregnancy because I was getting horrible pains and they thought it might be ectopic, it wasn't and we saw the sack but no heartbeat. I didn't go back for a follow up scan so when my first appointment with my ob happened at 15 weeks I half expected to see nothing but nope there was a happy little chicken in there and she's now nearing her due date
