Default Who's going to join me in resisting Big W's $3 t-shirts?

I know it's a complicated issue but the bottom line is that the market is consumer driven, and I refuse to be that consumer anymore.

If buying an ethically manufactured t-shirt costs me $10 instead of $3, it's because that's what a t-shirt should cost.

I am luckily in a position now where I can choose to purchase goods based on reasons other than price so I will certainly join you.... However I can understand why some people may buy them. It's certainly tempting to buy a "new" tshirt rather than a second hand one for the same price.

Yep. It's time to put thought into the whole chain of events our dollars support, instead of always going for the 'instant gratification' of cheap cheap cheap.

Cheap to us perhaps, entrenching the cycle of poverty and injustice for others.

How do we know though? Some more expensive brands are also made in sweat shops so you can't just look at price?

But you can tell where they're made.

I'm making an effort to buy second hand. At least then the ethics are a little less murky!
I agree regarding price, if you watched 4corners the other night Beneton were named as a brand made in the Rana plaza that collapsed.
I think if buying new buying Australian made is key. Cotton on, Kmart, target, and big w were all named as companies using sweat shops

I also can't find anything within my shopping district that is Australian made. Regardless of price cheap or expensive all made over seas.
