What about little post-it's hidden around for him to find? Little loving messages reminding him how much you love him, appreciate things he does. In his wallet, on his computer, under his aftershave, in his work shoes. You could even write silly little poems if you are creatively inclined!

I haven't read all the posts so sorry if I'm repeating.
I make DH's lunch for work and a while ago I started (after reading "the love dare" which is a fantastic book) to write little messages for him, can be a heartfelt appreciation letter he reads at lunch or as simple as a heart and love you on his sandwich bag, he love it, he tells me it makes him feel more love and appreciated than anything else I do (you'd think a sparkling clean house dinner on the table would do it)
anyway even if you don't make him lunch you could stuff a note in his jacket or brief case maybe build it up towards some romantic dinner over a week...

Do you have a good friend or relative around to lend a hand? Ask them very sweetly to help you prepare his favourite meal- 3 course if they can.

Then get them to stay for the evening, but out of your away attending to the kids whilst you and your DH enjoy an intimate evening in, no cost

A sleeping pill? I know how much I loved it when someone helped out during the night.

Or if you're not lovely dovey when it comes to words, maybe get some non-toxic paint and get bubs to help make a card with his/her hand and foot prints. This was the best birthday present I ever got.

Bake some cookies and hide them in his lunch box.

I make df his lunch and I write a little note on his lunch like a love heart or just a simple I love you. He went away on business this week and I wrote him a long note and hid it in his suitcase so he found it when he got to the hotel
    little things mean the most!
