Hi All, we're now in the 2ww for our 5th cycle. Had my egg pick up on Friday and they collected 5 eggs. Today at day 3 only one embie remained and it is not particularly good, 5 cell but compacting. We were lined up to have our transfer on Wed (5 day) but given our results we had our only remaining embie transferred today (day 3). Does anyone know what compacting means? I've taken it as a good sign that it's still growing but it's only 5 cell so not sure what to make of that?

My hubby has a condition and is on some awful medications which say do not conceive children whilst taking this. We had his sperm frozen years ago when he was first diagnosed but unfortunately the sperm is not good quality and quantity is not the best. We had asked to do picsi but apparently there aren't enough sperm to do that.

I was on a lower dose of meds this cycle in attempt to get less but good quality embies. .. Big fail :-( (162.5 gonal f, orgalutran and 1 ovidrel trigger, Pregnyl every three days following egg pickup)

Any suggestions on what we could try next? This is our 3rd full stim cycle and we've also had a canceled fet (embies didn't survive the thaw) and one unsuccessful fet. We never get more than 1 or 2 embies from each cycle. Oddly enough however we do have a beautiful 4 year old dd from our very first cycle ever but unfortunately haven't been able to repeat our success of that cycle.

Thank you to you all for reading and very best wishes to everyone who is jabbing, waiting or have had some good or not so good news xx

Wishnhope - With the thaw they give me a call to check I'm ok with them proceeding, they thaw one and if it doesn't survive then they will thaw one more but if that one doesn't survive then they have to call me and get the ok from me to carry on thawing until we get one that survives. I have 4 embryos frozen so I'm hoping I don't have to make the decision to use them all. I am going to stay positive and believe that the first one will thaw perfectly so there'll be no need to thaw anymore.

Sariele - Yeah I'm having a day 3 embie put back so I'm hoping it's all good with the timing. I didn't even realise they did the transfers on a Saturday but I'm going to put my trust in them again since the got me a daughter last time round so must know what they're doing! Are you also with fertility North? I was there earlier this morning getting my last blood test before triggering.

Can't believe what's just happened! None of my family know I'm doing this but I was due to trigger at 8pm (Perth time) tonight and my sister and her boyfriend came round at 7:30pm and sat talking! I had to sneak to the fridge and pretend I was going to the toilet and do the trigger in the bathroom! What's the chances of getting visitors tonight of all nights?! Luckily I'd read all the info on what to do earlier this evening so I just did it quickly and went back into the lounge.

Good luck to those in the TWW!

Klong, that's a bit awkward! Nice work on the sneaky jab though! Our families know about IVF, we kept TTC a secret last time but this time we've decided to tell them.

I did my first injection last night (150 gonal F)! I was standing there for 10mins with the needle pointed at my belly and struggling to convince myself to do it, but I finally managed it! Feels good to get started.

    Nattie

Bettie how are you feeling today Hun? I ended up taking panadine forte on the night after EPU but I was no where near as sick as you. Just remember to be careful it isn't OHSS

Yes Klong by the time I did my triggers I was an old hand at the jabbing just smacked them both in. God love IVF. Funnily enough I had a *friend* tell me just prior to starting my cycle how much fun IVF would be. Yeah right it's a ****ing carnival ride *sorry for the swear*. That is why I like this forum you ladies are the only ones who really understand.

So I ended up with 4 frosties I'm pretty happy with that.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for being i stalker mode have had a REALY bad few days. Where do i start? I got a UTI from the pill.......(they normally last like 24hrs for me and im fine) but this one has been around for over a week and could not get up from the pain in my back. So after 2 hours in a medical centre waiting the doc chucked some anti-biotics at me and said you'll be fine.

The next issue is i had to take a day off work because i couldn't get up. I get a text message ten minutes later saying sorry but you have too many personal issues i am terminating your employment immediately.

Now i finally have my period and my goodness it is the worst thing ever! How do women deal with this? It is so painful! I know it is only going to get worse from here.

Some good news though, as AF came i went to the clinic to have my day 1 blood test and we start injecting 112.5 of Gonal - F tonight.....DH so excited to stab me (i have been a real B**** the last few days.)

Where is everyone up to? I know we have a few retrievals, how is everyone feeling?

I'm feeling a lot better today. No more vomiting! Just feel a bit tight in my tummy and walking around is a bit uncomfortable. I'm resting up on the couch today watching telly knitting.

To the ladies that are getting injections from their husbands I'd recommend giving it a try yourselves. I was a bit nervous about doing it but if you pinch the skin nice and hard that's all you can feel
