I sometimes look at what other people have bought. It's interesting to see what ppl will buy from a supermarket like fruit and veg and meat when they could get it much cheaper from a fruit shop. Or when ppl buy frozen processed meats lol. But I would never comment about it to them. It's their business. Pretty rude to comment on how much someone else spends!

Just turn around wide-eyed and start talking about the zombie apocalypse.

I'd laugh & say "oh yeah, that should see me through till the weekend"
I was at muffin break the other day, getting a skinny capp for myself & a muffin as a treat for dd2. This totally random guy pointed at my coffee and laughed "bit stupid getting a muffin with a skinny eh?" Best I could come up with was "it's for my daughter actually", rude t0sser

I think I did once... Something like, "wow! I couldn't afford that." It was an innocent comment, I was still quite young. They just said they had moved so needed to buy a whole bunch of stuff... They didn't seem at all offended.
But generally, I am too busy thinking about myself and my own business to even notice.

I occasionally look at what people have (not snooping just notice whats on the belt in front of/behind my groceries) however I would never comment.
Im afraid if someone judged me I dont think I would be quick enough on my feet to think of a good comeback luckily no one ever has so far.

That would seriously annoy me. When I was lolly shopping for 32 loot bags a CHILD looked at my shopping and said to my daughter all wide-eyed "your mum buys lots of lollies", I thought that was funny.

Our family is doing the 12wbt Michelle Bridges program, so I shop once a fortnight, cook and freeze etc. lined up at coles yesterday and the woman behind me asked if I was going on a diet and then launched into a tirade of how I'll feel so much better when I'm not obese, and to make sure I exercise, it's not just food etc. I was gobsmacked.
I politely asked her if she was calling me fat she took two steps back and started putting her stuff on, and a grabbed a chocolate bar from the stand, I told her she shouldn't eat that, it'll give her type 2 diabetes. Felt like a biatch, but proud that she couldn't get me down.
