Especially considering the situation you now find yourself in. Good luck.
I've put in a formal complaint against the officer in charge, he handled it all wrong from the beginning. I actually did not know that I wasn't given that, I was given an antibiotic in case of infection and for some reason thought it was the emergency contraceptive. It was weeks later that I asked and the records were checked and showed that it was an antibiotic.

You should raise it was the hospital you were taken to. It's their responsibility and you should have been given more then one lot of antibiotics, plus blood tests plus follow-up blood tests. It's actually a pretty serious thing if they did not follow protocol which is pretty much universal for rape. Most likely the last thing you need right now-sorry!

Yes there were other tests, there was a forensic exam and blood tests and follow up blood tests and swabs and all of that was done, but I thought the one I was given was the emergency contraception immediately and it wasn't, that's what I meant.

You should go further with this - that is a huge error on behalf of the hospital. Given you fell pregnant - you could probably sue them.

The officer in charge of the investigation didn't handle any of it too well and was being horrible I think the staff were put out by that. I've put in a formal complaint about him I don't blame the hospital staff they were really good considering. They are aware that it wasn't given but what could they do that long after? It won't change anything to sue them now.

You're amazing...I think I would find someone to sue the pants off and take my DD on a very long holiday. Big respect to you...

I never even thought of emergency contraception, of course.

You know, I'm really really NOT a fan of suing, but in this case I think I would do it, that mistake of the hospital is really impacting hugely on your life. (obviously) You and your daughter definitely deserve compensation for what you are having to face from now on. You are going to have to pay for a lot of services which you otherwise would not have, and the emotional toll alone...

Surely they have checks, paperwork to make sure everything is done correctly?? I'm really disappointed to hear this happened, it's unforgivable.

ETA - I know you don't want to sue, I'm just totally outraged this happened!!
