    Default Where can I get these booster seats??

    Where can I get the booster seats which are just the base seats without the back and sides?

    When I didn't need one I saw them everywhere but now that I need one I can't find them! I've been to Target, Kmart and BigW. Will I have to go to a specialty baby shop?

    I'm fairly certain they are no longer for sale. Now they sell the high back plastic booster.

    I have seen them at Kmart but as PP said they are taken out of production, so it would just be what stores have left.

    "Can I use a booster cushion instead of a booster seat?

    You may use a booster cushion if it complies with Australian Standards.
    It is recommended that booster seats with high back and side wings be used wherever possible as they provide a higher level of safety in some types of crashes."

    though I should add that we buy the tethered boosters for our kids and just looked up your question out of pure interest.

    thanks everyone. There are quite a few on ebay so may have to go down that path. I wouldn't want one for full time use - this is just for my 6 year old in our second car who only travels 5 minutes to school in the mornings.

    They're really not safe. I would recommend a normal booster with back and sides.

    It is my understanding that A six year old still needs to be in a tethered booster by law until at least 7 years old. When she is old enough you could look at getting the infa booster seat that is avail from most stores now. It is about $58 and is foldable.

    They don't need a tethered booster but if the seat has a top tether it must be used.
