    Default Cyst question

Evening wise BH ladies and gents.
My dd who is 3 has an infected/enlarged cyst on the edge of her areola. On her first visit to the doctors she was given a course of antibiotics which caused the top layer to come off but she is finishing the course tomorrow and it looks no better.
It has always been there and we have been told to keep a close eye on it in case it ever changes. It was about the size of a pin head and is now about the size of a lolly skittle.
I am taking her back to the doctors tomorrow as the antibiotics havent worked but my question is does anyone know what happens now?
Will she likely have it removed? What does that involve?

I'm guessing she might need it drained. Poor little thing, hope she is ok!

I had a cyst removed from my face. It was a simple procedure and healed with minimum scaring. I also have a cyst on my underarm that occasionally gets enlarged and then shrinks again. I'm thinking of getting it removed as well.

Poor little thing. My FIL has actually had a recurrent one which required draining a few times and eventually minor surgery to open it right up and allow it to heal properly. They said it needed to heal from the bottom up (e.g. From the 'base' of the cyst to the surface) rather than from the top (skin level) down which is what kept happening when they drained it.
His was much bigger than a skittle though...more like a golf ball. Hopefully your DD's is more manageable at a smaller size
    Good luck x.
