Could it possibly be an ingrown hair? I've known a few people (and heard of many more) who get them in that area and actually require surgery to remove them...

I was going to say this too, a friend had one and it sounds just the same. She needed quite a bit of attention, hope you are able to get to the hospital ASAP.

Just an update, still at home in a lot of pain.

    Way TMI warning...

Just checked it after sitting on a heat pack, as soon as I split my cheeks it oozed a browny/yellow puss mixed with blood flowed from the lump, obviously the infection. I can't stop it, I now have a wad of toilet paper there absorbing it all, lovely!

I messaged mum and she is now on her way to check it out and possibly watch DD if I need to go to ER.

I've had numerous boils but nothing like this

Thanks for everyone's advice, will keep you posted.

Unless your mum is a nurse or a doctor I'd be going to the hospital regardless of what she thinks. Good luck!!

Yep this can lead to a pilonadial sinus. I did a dressing on one of these the other day. It was horrific. Id go to emergency when your mum arrives so she can mind your DD.

Thanks girls, mum came over last night and got out all she could, cleaned it up and covered it as best she could.

It's still sore today so mum is coming over a bit later today to watch DD while I go to the doctor.

Hoping its nothing serious as I need to be able to work to survive and am out of sick days already thanks to DD and I catching everything already this year
