    Default 1st Birthday presents.

    Hi BH community!!
My first baby (boy) is turning 1 at the start of August and people are already asking me what he would like to receive. I'm not a big fan of plastic toys and don't really want to end up with a room full of such. So I'm asking the wonderful bub hub community, what was a great gift your child received for their 1st birthday. I'm all about useful gifts!!!

We're getting dd a wishbone balance bike and asking for books, duplo, blocks and getting family to put in for a gorgeous kiddy couch.

A scuttlebug bike is great, folds flat to take to the park and even small enough to use in a patio area!

Something to ride one is great - trike of some kind, or pretend train/car.
    Board books or fabric books
MegaBloks - my 1st blocks - my dd LOVES them! They are great for improving fine motor skills for the littlies
    Clothes
Shape sorter toy (so many different options) - a basic one for a 1yo though

    For my daughter I'm considering:
    Wooden blocks
Child-sized backpack (have ordered a Skip Hop owl backpack)
Soft-soled shoes (I like the look of Mocc ons)
    Bath toys

hmm...I know there were more things I was considering, just can't think of what right now.

Musical or ride on things Clothes are always handy too! Kids just don't care at that age, so maybe a few toilet paper rolls would do the trick??
