    Typical!! Lol
You never know it could have been a chem pregnancy, but if you weren't trying I guess that's a good thing for you.
At least you'll have the tests for any future use

if she was nine days late it would be a miscarry, chem pregnancy results in on time AF.

If you POAS stick now, there will likely still be hcg in your system, so you'll know if it was just late or if it was a mis.

    big hugs

Actually a chemical pregnancy and an early miscarriage are technically part of the same thing. It's a pregnancy that ends before anything other than a HPT and a late period can prove you are pregnant (ie before a sac would be visible on an u/s). After than point it becomes an early miscarriage. It becomes a clinical pregnancy after it can be confirmed via ultrasound (usually around 5 weeks).

Cool - thought a chem was just when an egg was fertilised but failed to implant, hence the presence of hcg but then the arrival of an (on time) AF. would never have known about the pregnancy but for the +ve Early Response HPT.

My understanding is a chemical is a fertilised egg that fails to implant properly but a m/c is where it does implant?

I thought that too, but not according to this. When I had my chemical I did a lot of googling.

My period was two days late, hence I wasn't quite sure which is was. Technically both.
