I think I may have a drinking problem. Somehow drinking alcohol has become a big part of my weekends. I can't wait for friday afternoon to crack a beer or open a bottle of wine. I am never drunk around my children (they are in bed by 7:30pm). DH is a big drinker too which doesn't help.
Does anyone else drink every weekend? I don't know any of my friends who drink as much as me but I guess if they did they wouldn't be advertising it. It's not really something to be proud of

How much alcohol do you drink weekly?

I have a glass of wine every night, which I am putting an end to mainly because preservatives don't agree with me and I am trying to overcome some health issues.

I guess if you feel you can't live without it, it's a problem, whereas if you just look forward to it, not so much. Some days I'm hanging for a drink at the end of the day, but it's sort of more symbolic of the day having been done with than the actual alcohol. If there's none in the house when i want a drink, sometimes I'll bother going to get a bottle, sometimes not.
I would probably drink 2/3 nights a week. One or two drinks at a time, once a month or so I'll have a few more (not atm as I'm breastfeeding)

I guess it all depends how much you are drinking and what you think is acceptable.
i happily have a glass of wine midweek and look forward to it also....it's like the bonus for getting kids in bed early but wouldn't say I have a problem, I can't remember the last time I was drunk....it was before my DD was born and she is now 3.5.

I drink every weekend and have a few during the week too, with dinner or whatever.
At a weekend I might get a bit tipsy
Wine is a big part of our live. We buy from various wineries, cellar some and drink a fair bit. So it's a hobby. Some will disagree but I see this as a LOT different to someone throwing back cans of bourbon and coke, which tastes so gross that the only goal can be to get drunk.
People on here are way more anti-alcohol than anyone I know irl. I think that's because a lot of people have suffered in various ways because of it. I sympathise and understand why they wouldn't want alcohol in their lives. But for most people who drink in moderation? No big deal. Like most things.

I have a drink or two every few nights. Sometimes a few more on the weekend, never around bub. Sometimes I go a few weeks without.
I suppose it's a problem if you think it is.
Are you tired/stressed/over-worked in your life? If so, perhaps you being uncomfortable with your drinking means you subconsciously know that in order to improve things you have to do something to address the underlying core issues? And that drinking is masking the issues and preventing you from dealing with the core issues?

I guess you have to think if you're both drinking what would you do if your kids woke up and needed something or you had to drive them somewhere suddenly. That's what would bother me mostly, that you could both be impaired and you couldn't drive or make the best decision if something unexpected arose.

I have a glass of wine every night. IMO it's much healthier than when I used to binge drink every weekend.
I think it's a problem if you can't stop it. Eg. If your husband asked you to stop and you didn't/couldn't, or if you freaked out at not having any wine in the house

it becomes a problem when it is a need and not a want...and, my test for this is always if you can give it up for a month.
If the thought of giving it up causes anxiety...then, to me...it is a problem.
I maybe have 1 drink a fortnight or so...Dh prob has 3-4 standard drinks a fortnight. We both come from alcoholic parents and are very self aware and make sure we never become reliant on alcohol.

None for me. My dh probably has 4-6 drinks a week.
