The details you are supplying are incredibly distressing and inflammatory. My biggest issue with this info though is that the abortions you describe do not happen in australia. Whilst we have access to late term abortion, they are not partial abortions killing the child (inless mefically inviable and it would cause the foetus too much pain)nor do they allow suffocation of a child through labour in late term abortions. After birth if no medical reasons intervene a child after 24 weeks is cared for and resussitsted and given a chance to live, unless they have a condition non compatible with life. If this medical reason is the case the child is treated with care, respect and pain relief if needed. Unless parents are too distressed- they are asked to hold the child until it passes.
?? Overseas? I'm talking about aust. The US has outlawed partial birth. The point I was making was that once a baby is born, the dr is not allowed to actively take its life, otherwise it would legally be considered murder. These is only allowed to deny the baby any life saving treatment. Any measures to end the babies life MUST be done in utero. Via cardic injection before an induction, or a D & E if the woman does not want to birth the baby, or an intact d & r (or partial birth). How else do you propose a healthy viable foetus is able to be terminated? I know they are distressing. It is a horrible horrible thing that happens to our babies. And again this highlights that we would prefer to ignore and bury our head in te sand.

Does anyone find it ironic that of the two countries (US and Aus) the one with the stricter abortion laws allows partial birth abortions???

    Is it still legal here?

    Yes.

and with that, I'm bowing out (did I hear a sigh of relief?) I've invested too much emotionally into thinking about this. I just ask that you please, please try to educate yourselves on the truth before you form an opinion. Ignorance is bliss but our babies deserve for us to be informed about what happens to them. Termination (particulatly late term) is just the greatest tragedy of our day and it breaks my heart.

BigRedV that made me cry. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that. Your posts just confirm to me what I have always believed: when we discuss terminations in public forums we have to be so mindful that there are so many differing circumstances and real people with real feelings reading. The misinformation and pro-life propaganda helps nobody.
