So, the Endone did help me sleep, I even drooled - this usually NEVER excites me but to know I slept well for 3hrs, enough to drool makes me . I then swallowed, like flipping razor blades still!!! I had a look at the box and I can take it every 4 hours. I think the reason it has gotten so bad is because I have been "making do" "scrapping through" and not keeping my pain relief topped up. So I am thinking of doing a schedule of 2 x endone over night (4hrly - by set alarm) and panadiene forte during the day 4hrly - that way I won't exceed 8 tablets a day either. Does this sound reasonable?? I don't want to overdose, but seriously I can't live like this either especially for another week or more potentially. I really appreciate the help I have so far received. Times like this the Bub Hub community is amazing . So if anyone can supply feed back on my plan thatd be fantastic!

I guess if its still not improving and its been nearly a week you could call your doc and just get checked out to rule out any infection or anything..

Hi Hopefully Waiting, It has already been checked for infection by the GP who prescribed the Endone & Panadiene Forte. I don't feel like I've got an infection either, other than the pain. I have done up a schedule now of meds every 4hrs, so I shall see how that goes until Tuesday which is when I am to see the ENT specialist again. I appreciate you are only trying to help but tonsillectomies are renowned for being a savage operation, I underestimated it. I thought "that won't happen to me", I've had many terribly painful operations, I'll handle it like I did the others.... Ooops wrong! Me & the ENT will be having some words on Tuesday....

The schedule sounds good. I used an alarm on my phone to remind me when my meds were due and I also woke up during the night to take them otherwise it would be even more excruciating in the morning.

Don't stress about overdosing. You need them. You're in pain. Even if u took one extra in 24 hrs u are not going to overdose.

Schedule sounds fine to me. If you're taking them as described then that's what you should be doing. You shouldn't be in pain, when I had my caesar I was on endone, tramadol, panadol and my dr's said they don't want me in any pain. It's hard enough having an operation, you don't need to be in more pain than necessary.

Schedule is working, still getting pain but not as severe

Had my review with the ENT today, he said I shouldn't need such strong pain relief, but he did write me out another script for panadiene forte so I don't know if he was just having a dig or not.

Docs are usually insensitive when it comes to these things i'd have asked him if he had undergone the procedure if not then who is he to judge.
