    Default Facebook help please

Is there a way I can stop my comments and/or likes appearing on peoples timelines?? I've tried reading through all the security settings but I'm lost.

Friends have started commenting on items I've listed for sale or enquired about in a local buy/swap/sell group. They aren't part of the group, my posts and comments are just randomly appearing on their timelines.

Can I stop this from happening??

My understanding is that it's their settings. I can't remember what exactly they need to uncheck for them to stop seeing your post though sorry. Because the buy/swap/sell group would be public they would be able to see your interactions with the page on the side bar.
