Default Can I eat cold potato?

So my mum just made a potato salad for dinner in a few hours BUT its not the normal one. This one has no mayo, it is just boiled potatoes, onion, olive oil and garlic. When it gets to dinner time, is it ok to eat it? Its not been in the fridge and the potatoes are cooling as it sits.

Isn't it the mayo in potato/pasta salad and or meat that needs to be kept cold. I can't see a luke warm potato with olive oil would be bad.
