    Default Blue/purple lips?

Today my eldest DS who is 6 has purple lips, at one point they were really blue, but now around the lips - so it doesn't seem like oxygen is the problem.

Would you be concerned about blue/purple lips?

Oh, I totally thought you'd think it was fine. I am well known for overreacting regarding illnesses.

I would have definitely been worried about that.

Did you get him checked out?

Usually I am at the doctor in a flash, but today I have all 4 kids on my own and the other 3 are sick with weird spew bugs too. It sounds bad, but I thought maybe I kept an eye on him and it came back I'd go straight to the doctor.

Anyhow, I ended up ringing health direct - and they told me to go to emergency...even though he was fine and had been for 8 hours. Well, so I didn't, I'm keeping an eye and if at any stage it comes back then I'll take him up. It's kind of made me worried tbh.

Definitely get it checked. In first aid course we learnt it can be a sign of asthma even if it appears that they are breathing ok.
