Default 2 positive tests, 1 negative at doctors

    Hi,
I took a pregnancy test on Monday night which was a first response brand one, which was positive! After a sleepless night of being excited and just in a bit of shock (only the second month off the pill), I did a clear blue digital test on Tuesday morning which was also positive (2-3 weeks since conception), So 4+ weeks pregnant. Then today I went to the doctor with my husband and got a negative urine test, waiting for blood results on Friday now. My husband is being so supportive and said the tests the medicos use can sometimes be not as accurate, but I am so agitated! Anyone have this happen to them??? Are two false positives possible?? We both have our hearts set on being pregnant and being unsure is horrible! Any ones stories would be great, thanks so much!

Don't they say you can have a false negative but not a false positive.

    Good luck.

That happened to me with my first pregnancy. I did a FR which was positive. Went to doctors and he made me do another urine test there which was negative. He did a blood test which came back positive the next day.
I think the tests they use in the doctor's office are not as accurate with picking up the HCG levels early on. I was only very early (4 ish weeks?). Blood test is the only way to definitely confirm early on.

Thanks, it's a long wait to Friday, that's what my husband thought too about the doctors tests, that they aren't as effective early on, both home tests were positive, so hopefully the blood test confirms all for us. Just a nervous wait, we are in a country town so bit of wait as bloods get sent on the plane for results!!!

I was in the same boat as you. I did about 3 FRER tests at home which were all positive (super faint but definitely positive) and the Dr's urine test was negative!

My bloods came back woth a HCG of 25 which apparently is too low for the test that the drs use, they register at about 50 I think? I'd say your HCG level is just still low because it's so early on

Good luck! Let us know how you go when you get your results back on Friday x

    Mine went + + - - (at doctor) + + baby!

Apparently the level of HCG that the FR tests react to is lower than the doctor's urine tests. I had to have blood tests too, to confirm.

    Good luck :-)
