Default Has anyone had an experiences with Step-parent adoptions in NSW?

    Hi,

Just wanted to know some information about the Adoption process for step-parents.
We can't actually contact the bio-father involved with our 2 daughters...

So, is this enough information? Are the courts going to ask us to "track him down."
There has been no contact in 3 years, and our daughter is now 7 in May this year.

Unfortunately his name is on her birth certificate, so that option is ruled out.

Anyone have any ideas? I am waiting for a call back from the adoption agency.

We looked into it a lot for our eldest. There's no father listed so that part was easy. But for us, the cost was way too great and we preferred to spend the money on doing activities and experiences and invest in the bonding of my husband and child, rather than a piece of paper. This was mainly because we live remote though, and would have had to fully fund all the home visits, including fuel, accommodation and their hours, ourselves. Worked out to be roughly 20-25k from our best estimate.

No personal experience, but this may provide some insight and info into the process and requirements:
